You may follow, for example, the footsteps of the Romans who came to the Val Pusteria over 2000 years ago. On a hike from Chienes to the Castle of Casteldarne you may discover one of the best preserved Roman milestones: The Roman Stone is a two-meter column of quartz phyllite, which was built under the Roman Emperor Lucius Septinus Severus. That’s what makes history so much fun!

A welcome change during your farm holidays in the Dolomites: A visit to the Messner Mountain Museums at the Castle Brunico and on the top of Plan de Corones. The mountain museums of the extreme mountain climber Reinhold Messner take you to a completely different, unknown world.
The MMM Corones lies at 2,275 m – From the highest viewing plateau, your gaze will wander in all four directions: to the north you can see the Zillertal Dolomites, in the east across the border the Lienz Dolomites, in the south the Marmolada and in the west the Ortles. On Mount Ortles, Reinhold Messner had his three first ascents.
